Mini Tumours, the cure for cancer?

Fear is a very powerful element that makes one do things that one usually may not want to. Fear is that uninvited guest that ruins every single moment of your life. Fear is existing only because it knows that it will never leave your heart at peace.

Cancer is one such uninvited guest that knocks on one's door, anytime it pleases. The reason why it is feared and hated is due to its in-curability. Alternatives to slow down the process do exist yet they are but means of prolonging life to a tiny temporary time frame. Yet hope is that one shameless best friend that just would not leave one to its misery. And it is this hope that leads to innovation of the unbelievable. Science has yet made another discovery on the cure to cancer. This time, the promising solution seems to be mini tumours.

The study regarding the same was captained by the scientists at The Institute of Cancer Research, UK. The research was specifically conducted on stomach and bowel cancers. Mini tumours were generated using patients whose cancer were at a very advanced stage. Various types of drugs were tested against these tumours to determine what effect it might have on the actual patient. Mini tumours are basically small organoids which are produced with tissue extracts from the patients. Almost 71 tissues samples were taken for the same.

The best part about these treatments is that either and when a particular drug helps successfully to cure, then it can be used as a full-fledged cure for that type of cancer if it does not work then it is said to not work at all thus leaving no question for side effects.

Also, this cure has not yet been tested with other types of cancer but it is expected to work in the same way nonetheless. The research has brought in a new scope to the future of cancer itself.

Also, the most important part of the research is that now, patients could avail personalised treatment based on their type of cancer only. This not only limits the need for excess medication or treatment which was otherwise not so necessary.
