An insight into the sports and stadiums of Hyderabad

Sports shape the body of an individual and make it strong and active. The city of Hyderabad offers a number of stadiums to promote various sports activities. Few are mentioned below:

1) Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium: It is situated in Uppal, Hyderabad. The stadium offers marvelous facilities for the cricketers and is one of the best place for their accommodation. The area is spread over 16 acre land and has a capacity around 55,000 spectators. It was built and established in 2003.The stadium is owned by Hyderabad Cricket Association.

2)Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium: The stadium is the main cricket stadium for conducting International cricket matches in the city, and has a capacity of about 25,000spectators. Formely known as Fateh Maidan is also a football stadium .It was named Lal Bahadur Shastri when became the prime minister of India in 1964. It hosted its first test way back in NOV 1955 between India and New Zealand.

3)Gachibowli Indoor Stadium: Sports played are Kabaddi, Basketball, Badminton etc. Being one of the multipurpose stadium , it is located in Gachibowli ,Hyderabad. The stadium is owned by State Authority of Telangana. With a capacity of 5000 people and field size of 80 m radius , it can also host events like table tennis, judo etc. It was built in 2012 and also hosted the 2009 BWF World Championships.

4)Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Indoor Stadium: Situated in Hyderabad Telangana it is one of the best stadiums in India for volleyball. It was built in 2003 and has a capacity of 2000 spectators .The coaches at the stadium have helped a lot of children who prefer this station to learn Badminton and Roller skating.

5)G.M.C Balayogic Atheletic Stadium: It is also a multipurpose stadium situated in Gachibowli suburb of Hyderabad. The stadium can accommodate approximately 32,000 people. It is an ultramodern stadium with 8 line competition synthetic tract and 4 lane synthetic practice track.
