IS AUDIO BOOK READING?

One of the debate that is gaining a lot of popularity is that whether audio book is same as reading. There are two sides of a coin and we understand there are advantages of both.

While reading a book, we have the advantage of flexibility. We can choose the place to read, how to read and also the way of handling the book. We can read at our own pace and we can be the emperor of our own book universe.

However, we need to give our entire attention while reading books and we cannot multitask. For instance, it is very difficult to eat while reading books. Reading books allow us to live in a world of imagination. We are thus free to imagine every character and situation according to our interests.

But, if we want to finish a book really fast or that book is not that interesting that really is worth dedicating our entire time to, we can go for audio reading. When listening, the narrator sets the pace and decides on pronunciations, and we begin to hear the characters in the narrator's voice; you can still appreciate the writing. However, this also requires a huge amount of attention and a huge command over vocabulary as the narrator narrates the contents in his own pace and manner with which we must be familiar with.

This is difficult for first timers. As the style of narration might be unfamiliar or if the reader fails to grab the attention then most of the words might be missed. If we do not understand something and rewind and then again fast forward it, there is a chance that we will miss a part of the book. Also there is the huge battery drain out problem. Thus, we really need to have a high level of concentration in order to enjoy audio books.

Looking at all pros and cons we can decide whether we want to read books or go for audio reading. Thus it totally depends on the individual what he or she would prefer but nothing can take out the pleasure of reading ever period.
