Cover letters surely play a very significant role in your job getting process. That's why we try not to leave anything behind while writing. But think about it. Do you really need to add everything? Down below we are mentioning few mistakes we make in our cover letters.
Font and Style
Avoid over carving your letter. Do not take the pain in making it look visually beautiful. Focus on the content and material instead. Try to choose readable fonts like Arial or Times New Roman. Do arrange paragraphs in a systematic manner but don't overdo it. The recruiter is more interested in what's inside.
Avoid being so formal
You can avoid writing office address in the header because it's not so necessary. Those times are gone. Keep your focus on things worth mentioning like relevant qualifications, the area of interest and experience.
Too much detail
Try not to add every minor detail in your cover letter. It will look clumsy and will definitely not help you in creating a better image. So, write only those things which are relevant to the position.
In short, try not to break a nut using a sledgehammer.
