A cover letter is your reflection. It's like a virtual interview where your paper does the talking part. Actually, a cover letter is even more influential and important than your resume or CV. Thus, it is essential to know about various methods which can help in writing quality cover letters and hence could help in getting your choice of job.

Step 1. Rough outline

It means pointing out various details which you should include in your cover letter. You can write them separately and then incorporate them whenever you like. Things which are mandatory to include are your name, your address, the recipient’s name, company and its address etc.

Step 2. First paragraph carve first impression

Here you will talk about your talents and skills which make you fit for the job you have applied. Here you can mention about the person who told you about this job. It will grab the attention of the recruiter. The whole idea of this opening paragraph is to make the recruiter think about the possibilities hiring you.

It's not about bragging your each and every achievement but rather pointing out your relevant accomplishments and essential skills. You can build the emphasis on those and elaborate them in other two paragraphs.

Step 3. Second and third paragraph

In these two paragraphs, you will elaborate your experiences (either from your workplace or outside it). You can mention your undertaken projects, recent jobs and skills which you have acquired while working. Also, skills which you have got through courses say technical, communication and management skills.

Step 4. Fourth paragraph

In this paragraph, you will summarize each and everything you mentioned earlier in detail and give the recruiter a quick overview of your letter. The last impression is again very important like the first one. Thus, needs equal attention and importance. A striking closure has the power to create an everlasting impression on the recruiter.

Step 5. Comparing and checking.

In the last step, you should give a quick read to your completed letter and check if you have missed out anything. Compare your piece of writing with your resume and CV. You should write your latest contact number address and email ID.
