Films- Description of our lives through Entertainment

Movies or films have become an integrated part of our lives. Its one of the major source of entertainment and today people are engaging themselves more into these films as these are very relatable with our day to day lives. But among the many films released every year there are a few which touch our hearts in a manner which can hardly be expressed in words. In this century, the 21st century, many films were released but there are a list of hundred such films that were so well written and directed and executed that these were ranked in the top hundred among the thousand films.

The 100 greatest movies of the 21st century is a list compiled by British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). There are various criteria for this selection. BBC culture requested 177 film critics to submit responses which according to them are the 10 best films of the century. The lists were tallied and accordingly the films were given points accordingly. For instance if a film ranked 1 in a particular film critic's list it would get 10 points while the one ranking 10 gets 1 point. This way the films are given points and at the end we get the best films claimed by the critics. There are various instances where we get more than 100 films as a few films secure the same points and hence the same position.

In the 21st century list of the 100 movies there are 102 movies. Out of the 177 critics who submit the list, the largest number are from the United States followed by United Kingdom. 122 are men while 55 are women and they do a really good work in making the list of good films. The film that claims the number one position is "Mulholland Drive" by David Lynch which was released in 2001. Its a great film with a really meaningful story-line and marvellous acting. Then there is "Ratatouille" by Brad Bird released in 2007 which is an animated movie with great humor and entertainment and a unique way of depicting life. The list contains films of all genres ranging from tragedy to humor. But there is one thing common to all and that is the extraordinary way of expressing the simplest things of life so well-written. These films are worth devoting our time for. The name of a few movies are given below.

Watching these films gives a sense of joy and contentment. We almost feel as if we are alive to watch films instead of the regular feeling that we are watching films because we are alive. These films give such sensational feelings. We should surely take out some time and refer to such films.
