Nowadays people are very much in fond of online shopping. People thought that online shopping is the best way to save time and money. Through online shopping, it is easy to get products of your own will on your door steps. Nowadays Amazon is the best app for online shopping. It provides you with the thousands of variations in the infinite range of products. It is founded on 5 July 1994 by Jeff Bezos and is based in Seattle, Washington. It is the largest Internet-based retailer in the world by total sales and market capitalisation.

Bezos began to work on a business plan for what would eventually become amazon.com. Initially, the company was incorporated as “Cadabra” by Bezos in 1994. But within a year it was changed to Amazon because a lawyer misheard its original name as “Cadaver”.

In September 1994, Bezos purchased the URL relentless.com and briefly considered naming his online store Relentless, but was later dissuaded but his friends advised of the sinister sounding of the name. The domain is still active and redirects to the retailer because of being owned by Bezos. The company went online as amazon.com in 1995. Amazon as the name signifies a place that’s “exotic and different” was what led to the name being selected. The Amazon river, he noted was the "biggest" river in the world and he planned to make his store biggest in the world. Bezos placed a premium on his head start in building a brand, telling a reporter that "There's nothing about our model that can't be copied over time. You know what that famous junk food place i.e. McDonald's got copied still he worked hard and built a huge multi-billion-dollar company”. In the online world, rand names are very significant than in the physical world. Additionally, a name beginning with "A" was preferential due to the probability it would occur at the top of any list that was alphabetised. He also launches Amazon prime videos on demand. It is owned, developed and operated by amazon.com itself. It offers television shows and films on a purchase as a part of Amazon's Prime subscription.

Prime Video was added to Prime in the United Kingdom, Germany and Austria in 2014, a move that angered some Prime UK members as the bundling was non-negotiable with a 61% increase in the subscription fee. Whereas on the other hand Netflix is launched to compensate the Amazon prime videos. Netflix is the world’s leading internet based television network their own original series documentaries and feature films being part of its 125 million hours of TV shows and movies per day access to over 100 million members in over 190 countries. Members have the freedom to watch as much content as they wish to, as per their time convenience and anywhere as long as they have an internet-connected screen. There’s further the options of play, pause and resume while watching and all this without any commercials.

Netflix has changed its star ratings to a 'thumbs up, thumbs down' system. Previously viewers could rate a film or TV show from 1-5 stars. But the system was flawed, and Netflix is hoping the change will make recommendations more reliable. Both Netflix, as well as Amazon, are doing very well. In today's world, they are trying their best to make more profit.

Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are the two leading media streaming players. If you're struggling to decide which one to choose then you must have to read about all the different aspects involved. Video streaming and doing video calling has now become the part of our modern daily lives, which means no more TV schedules and much more choice. The selected titles can be viewed exclusively by full Prime or Prime Video members in which video membership allows viewing without full Prime.

Amazon in a bid to stay ahead of the competition had pursued numerous exclusive content deals to differentiate its service, including a multi-year licensing deal with HBO in the United States. With the expanding library, the services grew which added the Prime Video membership with the development of Prime. The service was later renamed to Amazon Instant Video on Demand. After acquiring the local streaming and DVD-by-mail service in 2011.
